Rumour graveyard: claims that failed — and how to check the next one

This thread is for claims that can be checked, not for turning unverified screenshots into headlines.

Failed predictions

• Specific Trailer 3 dates that passed without a Rockstar release are failed predictions, not delayed confirmations.
• Any claim about an August reveal remains unconfirmed until Rockstar, Take-Two, PlayStation, or Xbox publishes evidence.

How we classify a claim

• Confirmed: a direct official source.
• Reported: a named outlet with attributable evidence, still distinct from confirmation.
• Rumour: a claim without primary evidence.
• Debunked: contradicted by a source or falsified by a dated prediction failing.

Before posting

Include the original URL, date, and exact wording. Do not cite anonymous “dev sources” as fact. If a claim has no accessible evidence, it belongs in the rumour column rather than the graveyard.
