Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They let the site remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or whether you are signed in, so you do not have to provide it again on every page you open.

There are different types of cookies depending on who manages them (first-party or third-party), how long they remain (session cookies, deleted when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, which last for a defined period) and what they are for (technical or necessary, preference, analytics or advertising). At Leonida Hub we use only first-party, technical or necessary cookies, as detailed below.

These are the only two cookies we use. We also store a few items in the browser's local storage, detailed at the end of this list. Both are technical or necessary: without them the site cannot provide the service you expect.

Session / authentication cookie · Category: technical/necessary · Purpose: keep you securely signed in. It stores the access token (JWT) that identifies your session after you log in. It is marked as httpOnly (not accessible from the browser's JavaScript) and with the SameSite attribute, to reduce the risk of session theft and cross-site request forgery (CSRF). · Duration: session / short-lived. The access token is short-lived and is renewed via a refresh token; in practice the cookie stops being valid shortly after you log out or after a short period of inactivity.

Language preference cookie · Category: technical/necessary · Purpose: remember the language you have chosen (Spanish or English) so we can show you the site in that language on later visits without you having to select it again. · Duration: persistent, approximately 1 year.

Local storage (localStorage) · Category: technical/necessary · Purpose: remember that you are signed in so the communities sidebar can be drawn from the very first frame and the page does not jump once it finishes loading. It is not a cookie: it is browser local storage, it is never sent to the server in any request, it holds only a “signed in” marker and never personal data or the access token. It is written only after you sign in and is deleted when you sign out. · Duration: until you sign out or clear the site data in your browser.

Daily check-in marker (localStorage) · Category: technical/necessary · Purpose: remember that today's Streak check-in has already been counted, so audience measurement does not count it again on every page you open. It holds only a date (year, month and day), never an identifier or personal data, and it is never sent to the server in any request. · Duration: overwritten each day, and deleted when you clear the site data in your browser.

Radio local storage · Category: technical/necessary · Purpose: remembering your preferences for the Radio player: the tuned station, whether you enabled continuous playback, whether you muted the device sounds, and the minute where you left the last song, so you can pick it up where you were. These are settings you choose while using the player; they are stored only in your browser, never sent to our servers or to third parties, and you can delete them by clearing this site's data in your browser.

The cookies we use are exclusively technical or strictly necessary. According to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) Guidance on the use of cookies and Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE, cookies whose sole purpose is to enable communication or to provide a service expressly requested by the user (such as keeping you signed in or remembering your language preference) are exempt from the requirement to obtain prior consent.

The same rule covers the local storage described above: Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE does not refer to cookies alone but to any information stored on the user's device, and that session marker is strictly necessary to provide the service you yourself requested by signing in.

For this reason we do not display a cookie consent banner: we do not install any cookie that would require your authorisation. Our audience measurement does not require it either: it uses no cookies and no persistent identifiers and cannot identify you, which is the condition for the exemption. The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional service and the performance of the service you request yourself by using the platform. If in the future we were to add non-exempt cookies (for example, analytics or advertising), we would first implement a consent mechanism in line with the applicable regulations and update this policy.

You can allow, block or delete the cookies installed on your device from your browser settings. Each browser has its own procedure; check the help or privacy section of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or Opera for the specific steps.

Most browsers also let you browse in private or incognito mode, in which cookies are deleted when you close the window.

Please note that, since we use only necessary technical cookies, disabling or blocking them may prevent you from signing in or from having the site remember your language, and some features may stop working correctly.

We do not use third-party cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking purposes. We do not share your browsing information with advertising networks or analytics providers. We run our audience measurement with open-source software (Umami) installed on our own servers, so that data never goes to any third party.

There are two exceptions, and both depend on an action of yours. The first arises if you choose to sign in through a social login provider: in that case, and only if you voluntarily enable that option, the relevant provider may install the cookies strictly necessary to complete authentication through its own services, subject to its respective cookie and privacy policies. If you do not use social login, no third-party cookie is installed through this route.

The second is the music and video players. In the Radio section, music plays in the official Spotify player (open.spotify.com), and on trailer and station pages videos are shown with the YouTube player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Neither loads when you open the page: they load only when you press play, and we say so next to the player. When you play, Spotify AB and Google (YouTube) may set cookies and identifiers on their own domains for the operation and measurement of their players, subject to their respective cookie and privacy policies. If you do not press play, nothing of theirs is installed.

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect technical, legal or operational changes to the site. When we do, we will update the last-updated date shown at the top.

We recommend reviewing this page periodically. If we introduce cookies that require your consent, we will ask for it clearly before installing them.
