Is that black «Vice City Leonida» box a collector's edition?
@mastrnoob69RESOLVED · 24 September 2026
It was the collector's box. Rockstar announced it today on Newswire as Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, and pre-orders are open on the Rockstar Store while supplies last. The official shot shows a black box with Vice City and pink Leonida script on the lid and the palm-tree VI on the front, matching the 9 September photos.
👉 Price, full contents and shipping in our story: Rockstar opens pre-orders for The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection.

▸ What the thread can now close
It's official Rockstar merch. The game is not included (the listing says "game sold separately"), so no disc. It ships from 19 November, launch day, not later. One per person, you need a Rockstar Store login, and it only ships to the US, Canada, the UK and part of Europe. Outside the US and UK, expect possible import duties.
Rockstar doesn't say who makes it or where, so the Unique Services Group part is still only the X user's word. We couldn't confirm the price from the public listing.
We also cover it in the Rockstar Store story.

RUMOUR / WATCHLIST · 9 September 2026
At the time, Rockstar had not announced a collector's edition and these photos were circulating as if it had.
▸ What the photos show
Large black boxes. One face reads VICE CITY, with Leonida in pink script underneath. The side has the VI logo with palm trees. In the warehouse shot, a stack of the same boxes, same text on the lids.
The first photo is rotated so the type is readable. The second is the stack, as it was posted.
▸ What the poster claimed
On 9 September, X user @Alexi0982 wrote that he had spent a month packing a GTA VI collector's edition at Unique Services Group in Mexico. He said the box is bigger than a PS5 box, has several compartments, and that he remembers "a circular piece where a disc could fit". Then he walked it back: maybe there is no disc, it does not name a console. He said the inside is more colourful. No release window; he claims they are already shipping and that production ends in November, so it might land after launch.
The original post is gone. Beebom, Generación Xbox and GTAVice picked it up. We are not republishing the employee badge he also posted.
▸ What is actually confirmed
• At launch, the physical box contains a download code, not a disc. Rockstar said so on 24 June 2026.
• The game comes in Standard and Ultimate. The collector's box has been sold separately since 24 September and does not include it.
• Digital preload starts 12 November. The code-in-a-box version is also due from that date so you can preload.
• The Hollywood Reporter, citing a source with knowledge of Rockstar's plans, wrote on 27 June that there are no plans to print discs "not at launch, and not months after". The Support email about a "physical copy" was that code-in-a-box SKU. We covered it in the disc piece.
▸ What we couldn't say on 9 September
Whether these boxes were Rockstar's, whether Unique Services Group was packing GTA VI, whether there was a disc, or whether it shipped after launch. The note above settles all of it except the manufacturer.
