Is that black «Vice City Leonida» box a collector's edition?

Rockstar has not announced a collector's edition. These photos are circulating as if it had. Until Newswire, a store listing or Take-Two says otherwise, treat them as rumour.
▸ What the photos show
Large black boxes. One face reads VICE CITY, with Leonida in pink script underneath. The side has the VI logo with palm trees. In the warehouse shot, a stack of the same boxes, same text on the lids.
The first photo is rotated so the type is readable. The second is the stack, as it was posted.
▸ What the poster claimed
On 9 September, X user @Alexi0982 wrote that he had spent a month packing a GTA VI collector's edition at Unique Services Group in Mexico. He said the box is bigger than a PS5 box, has several compartments, and that he remembers "a circular piece where a disc could fit". Then he walked it back: maybe there is no disc, it does not name a console. He said the inside is more colourful. No release window; he claims they are already shipping and that production ends in November, so it might land after launch.

▸ What is actually confirmed
• At launch, the physical box contains a download code, not a disc. Rockstar said so on 24 June 2026.
• There is Standard and Ultimate. No Collector in the pre-order lineup.
• Digital preload starts 12 November. The code-in-a-box version is also due from that date so you can preload.
• The Hollywood Reporter, citing a source with knowledge of Rockstar's plans, wrote on 27 June that there are no plans to print discs "not at launch, and not months after". The Support email about a "physical copy" was that code-in-a-box SKU. We covered it in the disc piece.
▸ What we cannot say
That these boxes are Rockstar's. That Unique Services Group is packing GTA VI. That a disc is in there. That it ships after 19 November. That it is a press kit. That it is fake. All of that is still open.

If you have seen this box in a shop, on a packing slip or a real listing, post a dated shot. If it looks like a press kit or a mock-up, say that too. No need to restate that Rockstar has not confirmed it. That is already at the top.
