Rockstar released the GTA VI launch trailer on October 15: 90 seconds that run from a marina in the Keys to a vault in Vice City. Here we break it down shot by shot, with the exact timestamp of each capture. Full context in our story.
Shot-by-shot coverage
- 010:03
Welcome to the Keys

The trailer doesn't open in Vice City but in the Keys. A pickup tows a jet ski toward a "Welcome to The Keys" billboard with a heron and a shark.
- 020:05
Brian's Marina

An aerial view of a marina with boats stacked on racks and a big red sign: Brian's Marina. Brian Heder is one of the characters on the official site, so it's reasonable to think this is his business, though Rockstar doesn't say so.
- 030:07
Jason at the boatyard

Jason, with longer hair and a backwards cap, buffs a boat hull. His voice sets it up: "I got in some trouble in the Army. Didn't leave on the best of terms. They don't give loans or anything to people like me."
- 040:12
The prison call

Jason picks up the phone in the marina lot and a recording plays: "This is a free call from Lucia Caminos." That's the standard prison phone greeting, the same situation we first met Lucia in on Trailer 1, now heard from the other end of the line.
- 050:19
A lowrider up to no good

A green convertible lowrider with gold veins and three tattooed guys inside. One hangs a submachine gun over the door. Right after, an iguana crosses the road, which is about as Florida as a shot gets.
- 060:26
Top down

Lucia leans on the door of a red convertible as they drive along the coast. After the title card the trailer changes gear: this is where the jobs start.
- 070:27
Through the mangroves

Armed silhouettes wade waist-deep through mangroves at sunset. Leonida's swamps were already in the first trailer; here they look like the setting for a job.
- 080:35
The vault

The shot of the trailer. Through an open round door, two women walk into a smoke-filled vault as banknotes float. Before it there's a crew in plate carriers and headsets and a red exit sign: the easy score that, per Rockstar, goes wrong.
- 090:38
Chasing a plane

A pickup races down the runway under a plane's landing gear while someone climbs out toward it.
- 100:40
U.S. Army shirt

Jason and Lucia lean on a classic red sports car at a container yard. He's wearing a U.S. Army T-shirt, so the military past isn't a throwaway line.
- 110:47
Art Deco chase

A neon-green supercar cuts across an Art Deco arcade street with a police car right behind it and people on the sidewalks. Vice City by day, flat out.
- 120:49
Off the elevated line

A dirt bike jumps off the elevated rail line as a train goes by. Bike stunts get their own shot again.
- 130:51
An ankle monitor
A quick, dark shot of bare feet in a shower shows an ankle monitor with its red light on. It fits someone on supervised release. You can't see whose it is, so we're not calling it.
- 140:52
Rooftop fire

An armed man on a rooftop at night, a helicopter close by and an explosion over the skyline.
- 150:55
Biplane over the beach

A biplane trails pink smoke over a packed beach with someone standing on the wing. Peak Leonida.
- 160:59
Pink balaclavas

Two women in pink balaclavas pose with rifles in front of a banner. Another crew, or the same job seen from another angle: the trailer doesn't say.
- 171:02
"Are we gonna be okay?"
The music shifts and the couple speak: "Are we gonna be okay?" "We've stuck together through everything. Just gotta get through it." Meanwhile: a night street race, a man with a pistol in the fog and a skyscraper with its windows blowing out.
- 181:07
Sunset embrace

A couple embraces on a balcony as the sun sets over the sea. It's the breather before the final stretch: helicopters, sheriff's cars and a woman firing a rifle through flames.
- 191:13
Into the water
Top-down shot: a couple holding hands leaps from a height into a blue-lit pool. It's the last shot before the logo.
- 201:20
The end card
"November 19, 2026 · Pre-order now," the M rating and "Captured on PS5." Rockstar doesn't say whether that's the base console or the Pro. It closes on PlayStation's "Play Has No Limits."
