Rockstar says GTA VI wasn't built on crunch. Do you buy it?

The most interesting part of Bloomberg's feature isn't the budget, it's what Jennifer Kolbe says about crunch. She says GTA VI wasn't finished on the kind of overtime that defined Red Dead Redemption 2: more people, more realistic schedules, and extra hours paid back with time off and sometimes money. She also admits it's "not been perfect" and that someone will always say they did crunch.

I find it hard to fully buy for a game with two delays, 4,711 staff and a Los Angeles studio spun up late just for NPCs. Then again, delaying twice is exactly what you do if you don't want to grind people down. And there's the other side: five days a week in the office, no server access from home, and 34 firings still in front of a tribunal in Glasgow.

Does this read like a real change at Rockstar or just better messaging? Does it change how you see the game at all?

Our full recap of the feature is here.
