Rockstar turned the Heat's arena into Vice City (and the sign stays until at least April)
Check out this aerial shot of Miami's Kaseya Center, home of the Heat: on the roof, in huge pink letters, it says "Welcome to Vice City" with the VI logo. It's not a mock-up. Rockstar paid Miami-Dade County $975,000 to put it up (around 4,690 sq ft of letters on 21,000 lbs of steel), it was lifted in by helicopter on September 22, and it stays until at least April 11, 2027 (Forbes, CBS Miami; some reports mention 2028, but that's unconfirmed). Every plane landing in Miami and anyone watching a Heat game will see it.
Fun detail: according to Forbes, the price landed just under $1 million so it didn't need a county commission vote, and other ideas like theming the airport got turned down.
What do you think? Marketing genius or way too much? What else are you expecting before November 19: trailer 3, more billboards, something in Liberty City?
