A leak points to a GTA VI campaign on Discord codenamed "Hexagon"

Discord may be getting a GTA VI makeover for launch week. That comes from a leak of its code, under the internal codename "Hexagon", and for now it is only a rumor. Discord, Rockstar Games and Take-Two haven't announced anything, and every report traces back to the same source.

What happened

On October 6, Wumpus Central, an account that tracks changes in Discord's code, posted on X that Discord is working on a limited-time GTA VI campaign. RockstarINTEL and Insider Gaming picked it up, with the latter calling it "nothing huge" but "something". Since they all cite the same leak, there's no independent confirmation. As of October 7, Discord's blog and newsroom say nothing about it.

What the leak says

The campaign would bring a GTA VI-themed app icon, an app theme with a pink and purple gradient that leans hard into Vice City (Wumpus Central shared a preview) and a GTA VI-style font for your display name. There's also a Discord Quest listed, with an unknown reward.

The dates are in the code too. It would start on November 17 at 18:00 UTC, two days before the game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Free users would lose it on December 8, while Nitro subscribers could keep it until February 15, 2027.

What we can't say yet

We don't know what the Quest gives, or whether the campaign ships at all. Code changes, and plenty of what turns up in it never goes live. Nothing published so far shows Rockstar or Take-Two are involved either.

A few outlets have pitched this as GTA 6's first free in-game reward or even DLC. The leak doesn't say that; the only thing that could hand out anything is that unidentified Quest.

The tie-in itself would not be new. Rockstar already offers rewards for linking your account with Discord, per its support FAQ, and in August 2024 a GTA Online Quest gave out "The Los Santos" avatar decoration for 15 minutes of play (GTA BOOM). That proves nothing here, but the format is real.

Why it matters

If the leak holds up, Discord would be dressed in GTA VI colours right as the game comes out. Whatever happens, keep this in mind: DMs offering "free GTA 6" or free Nitro are phishing. A campaign like this would live inside the Discord app itself, so any offer that lands in your private messages should set off alarms.
