Status: Report. The labels exist and are approved in the US government's public registry. Neither Rockstar nor the brewery has announced anything, and it's unknown whether or when they'll go on sale.

Pißwasser, GTA's signature beer, is on its way to becoming real. The public registry of the TTB, the US agency that approves alcohol labels, lists three cans carrying the GTA VI logo: Pißwasser, Patriot and a new one, No Mames Vice City. All three belong to Tripping Animals Brewing, a brewery in Doral, next to Miami.

Fan site GTAVice.net spotted them on October 20, and PC Gamer checked afterwards: the No Mames Vice City label was approved on October 9, and Pißwasser and Patriot on October 15.

The three beers

  • Pißwasser Pils: a 4.2% pilsner in a 12 oz can. It has the crown crest, the "Ü-Rhine" tag and the tagline "You're in, for a good time".
  • Patriot Beer: a 4.2% American lager, also in a 12 oz can, with stripes, stars and its classic slogan: "Never refuse a Patriot".
  • No Mames Vice City: a 6% lager in a pint can. It's the No Mames that Tripping Animals already sells, dressed up for Vice City: a chihuahua in pink sunglasses and a gold chain with the city's name, among palm trees at sunset.

All three carry the palm-tree "VI" logo on the side, next to Tripping Animals' own.

Will they go on sale?

That's unclear. TTB label approval means the can can be sold in the US, not that it will be. Neither Rockstar nor Tripping Animals has said anything, and Pißwasser and Patriot aren't on the brewery's website yet.

There are hints in favor. Pißwasser and Patriot signs showed up this week outside Monty's Raw Bar in Miami (our story), and Rockstar has just opened a real Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell at the Heat's arena. The beers would fit the same campaign.

What we don't know

  • Whether they'll go on sale, when, and at what price.
  • Where. Tripping Animals distributes mostly around Miami, so outside Florida it would be tricky.
  • Whether more in-game drinks, like eCola or Sprunk, both already advertised in Wynwood, will follow.

Which one would you crack open first? Let's talk in the forum.
