Status: Report. Spotted and photographed by Miami locals and covered by several outlets. Rockstar hasn't announced it, but everything points to its campaign.

GTA VI's cars are already on Miami's streets. Since October 16, a convoy of real sports cars modified to look like in-game vehicles, all wearing Leonida license plates from GTA VI's fictional state, has been spotted around the city (IGN, Notebookcheck).

Which cars

  • A McLaren kitted out as the Progen Emerus.
  • A Corvette wrapped as the Coquette.
  • A Lamborghini in Vice Beach police livery, driving in the convoy with the rest.
  • Real-life takes on the Cheetah, Coquette D10, Tempesta and Manana.

The convoy was seen on the streets and parked at a gas station, with the Goodyear blimp and its GTA VI ad in the background. Local account Only in Dade shared the photos, and on X videotech called it a Rockstar "street car showcase".

Is it Rockstar?

There's no official announcement, and as Notebookcheck notes, none of the cars actually says "GTA VI". But with Leonida plates, models that match the game's a "VCE CTY" plate and a Vice Beach police cruiser, it's hard to think it's anything else. It also fits the rest of the Miami campaign: the Heat's arena turned into Vice City for launch eve and the blimp carrying the game's ad.

Not everyone is a fan. In September, the Miami-Dade County sheriff criticized tying the area to a series she described as centered on crime (Axios).

What we don't know

  • Whether Rockstar will confirm it or the convoy will make more stops.
  • Whether it will show up in other cities.
  • Whether fans will get a chance to see the cars up close or it's just a promo drive.

Which one would you take in Leonida? Let's talk in the forum.
