GTA VI could reach PC between January and March 2027, GamesBeat reports
GamesBeat says, citing four anonymous sources, that Rockstar plans to release GTA VI on PC in the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar hasn't confirmed it, and Take-Two still lists only PS5 and Xbox.

Status: Report. GamesBeat published it citing four anonymous sources. Rockstar has not announced a PC version.
GTA VI would reach PC between January and March 2027, just months after its console launch. GamesBeat reported it today, saying it confirmed the plan with four industry sources familiar with Rockstar's plans. All four asked not to be named to protect business relationships, and Rockstar didn't respond to a request for comment.
What happened
According to GamesBeat, Rockstar plans to release the PC version in the first quarter of 2027. It also notes the port will have to clear the same quality bar as the console version before it ships. Kotaku, IGN and others have picked up the story, all citing GamesBeat.
If it holds, it would be the shortest wait for a recent mainline Rockstar game. GTA V took about 19 months to reach PC and Red Dead Redemption 2 about 12. GTA VI would land on PC two to four months after consoles.
GamesBeat lays out why: PC widens the audience a lot, and FiveM roleplay, which Rockstar bought in 2023, lives entirely on PC. On top of that, Twitch's CEO said in September that GTA VI's online mode arrives "next year."
What is confirmed
GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and that's it. The official site doesn't list PC. In Take-Two's latest release table, from August 7, GTA VI appears only on those two consoles (Take-Two). In May, Strauss Zelnick said Rockstar starts on console because that's its core audience, and denied any exclusivity deal with Sony (GameSpot).
What we can't say yet
- That there's a date. The report doesn't even name a month.
- Price, storefront (Steam, Epic, Rockstar's launcher), requirements, mods or cross-play.
- That you'll be able to play on PC through the cloud at launch. The Verge reported that and Xbox denied it the next day (our story).
Why it matters
There's a way to check this soon. Take-Two's fiscal year ends on March 31, 2027, so a January to March PC launch falls inside it. If the plan is real, it should eventually show up in Take-Two's release table, and the next one comes on November 9 (our story). If GTA VI is still listed only for PS5 and Xbox that day, it doesn't disprove the report, but it doesn't confirm it either.
There was a vaguer hint along these lines in September from VGC's editor-in-chief. We're tracking it in this thread, and what's known about the PC version lives in our guide.
