Will GTA VI take us to the Caribbean?
A new rumor, based on a leaked image, suggests that there is a map showing similarities between Cuba and Puerto Rico, so it's possible that we'll set out from Leonida on a mission.
Rumors about Grand Theft Auto VI continue to surprise the community. While we all have our eyes set on a return to Vice City (Leonida), new leaks suggest that the map could extend far beyond U.S. borders, taking us directly to the Caribbean region.
A New Tropical Paradise?
Although there’s no official confirmation yet on how it will be integrated into the final game, the latest rumors suggest that the map will draw heavy inspiration from locations and landscapes in Puerto Rico and Cuba.
The scope of this region in the game remains unknown:
- Will it be part of the main explorable open-world map?
- Will it be a location exclusive to certain story missions?
- Or could it be a planned expansion for Online mode?
It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve packed our bags
For veterans of the series, the idea of traveling to another region during the game isn’t out of the question. Rockstar Games has already experimented with excursions outside the main map in previous titles, breaking up the monotony of the environment:
- GTA: San Andreas: It's impossible to forget that legendary mission where we took a direct flight to carry out a job at the snow-covered Marco's Bistro in Liberty City.
- GTA V: The plot took us to the frigid, remote town of North Yankton (both in the prologue and midway through the story), offering a stark contrast to the sunny city of Los Santos.
What would this mean for the game?
A foray into the Caribbean would fit perfectly with the Vice City theme. Geographically and story-wise, it opens up a huge range of possibilities: smuggling routes, new maritime navigation mechanics, and a visually distinct environment.
