Another GTA VI Thursday? Five weeks of updates, and no confirmed October 1 reveal

There's a reason GTA VI fans have started checking the calendar every Thursday. From August 27 through September 24, each week brought something connected to the game. The dates line up. That doesn't mean Rockstar has committed to a weekly reveal schedule.

August 27 brought Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. It was the big one: a longer look at the game released by Rockstar. On September 3, PlayStation unveiled two limited-edition DualSense controllers inspired by Vice City. Pre-orders for those controllers began on Thursday, September 10, as Sony had already announced. That date wasn't a second trailer or a fresh game reveal.

Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on September 17. The following Thursday, September 24, pre-orders opened for The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a collector's box of merchandise. The game is sold separately.

Is anything coming on October 1?

It's another Thursday, but Rockstar hasn't announced anything for October 1. There's no confirmed trailer, gameplay presentation, or weekly reveal calendar. The English cover tracks what has already happened; it isn't a schedule of future announcements.

There is a smaller lead worth watching. TmarTn showed a GTA VI merchandise package on video, including a shirt, cap and other items. Beebom reported on the package and suggested the merchandise might become available this Thursday. That's a possibility, not a Rockstar store announcement, and it says nothing about a new trailer.

Why the distinction matters

These five Thursdays weren't five equivalent reveals. One was a video from Rockstar; another was a PlayStation product announcement; September 10 was the previously stated pre-order date. The album and collector's box were music and merchandise news. The pattern is fun to follow, but it doesn't tell us what comes next. We'll know whether October 1 joins the list when an actual announcement appears.
