Cyberleek shows signs of life: a new poll on its site, 45 days before GTA VI

The site of Cyberleek, the leaker who posted GTA VI clips in August, is active again with a mysterious poll that closes Thursday, October 8. There are no new leaks, and it's not even clear the same person is behind it.

Status: Report. The only confirmed thing is that the site has a new poll. Everything else is unconfirmed.

Cyberleek, the leaker who posted Grand Theft Auto VI clips in August, is showing signs of life. The site, quiet for over a month, now shows a new poll (OpenCritic). The catch: nobody knows what it's about, since all the text is question marks.

What changed

  • The poll closes Thursday, October 8, according to Notebookcheck, a day when Rockstar's marketing is often active.
  • The original token wallet is moving again. New accounts and transactions tied to it have appeared, which requires access to the same wallet used in August.
  • No new material. No videos, no screenshots (GTA 6 News).

Is it the same Cyberleek?

Unclear. Outlets following it point to three options: the same person returning, someone close to them, or someone else who took over the site. None is confirmed.

What happened in August

On August 18, Cyberleek started posting gameplay clips of Jason: fairly everyday scenes from a relatively recent build, with no sign of Lucia. Viewers voted on what leaked next (PC Gamer).

There was money behind it. The videos were watermarked with a memecoin and a message that the higher its value, the more would leak. It peaked at $25 million, and hours before the Netflix Extended Look its creator cashed out around $250,000. Then it collapsed (CoinDesk).

Rockstar responded on August 26, calling it "heartbreaking" for the team and saying "this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time" (PC Gamer). Take-Two sought data from Discord through DMCA subpoenas, but no arrest has been reported.

What's at stake

There are 45 days until November 19. The two risks outlets point to are spoilers for the ending of Jason and Lucia's story and a playable build leak.

Where we stand

Leonida Hub won't link Cyberleek's site, name the coin or publish leaked material. People already lost money on that scheme in August, and our line is to keep what Rockstar confirms separate from what it doesn't. If something happens Thursday, we'll tell you what happened without spoiling the game.

Do you think it's really them, or someone using the name? Let's talk about it in the forum.
