GTA VI: 13 activities and minigames shown in An Extended Look
The official video shows thirteen activities with controls, HUD elements or direct participation. We separate basketball, diving, workouts, racing and parachuting from background scenes that are not yet confirmed as playable.

Editorial update, August 28, 2026: this article was revised after reviewing the official video directly. Claims that treated background scenes or expectations as confirmed mechanics were removed.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look is more than a story presentation. Its montage includes activities with HUD elements, button prompts or direct participation from Jason and Lucia. Our review identifies thirteen activities with playable evidence, plus an interaction that opens livestreams inside the game.
Rockstar has not published an official list of their names, rules or availability. Seeing an activity under player control therefore does not tell us how deep it will be or whether it can be accessed at any time.
What Rockstar showed with direct evidence
The clearest signals appear between 17:10 and 18:58:
- Basketball: Jason holds the ball in front of a hoop while the HUD displays
AIM L2andSHOOT R2. - Bench press: Lucia works out with alternating L2 and R2 prompts.
- Airboat: it appears under player control with the minimap active.
- Scuba diving: a character explores an underwater cave with a tank and fins.
- Jumping into the water and swimming: the sequence shows direct participation.
- Jet ski: it is driven with the minimap visible.
- Binoculars: they have a reticle and zoom prompt; this is a controllable tool rather than a standalone minigame.
- Kayaking: one of the protagonists paddles through the waterways.
- Throwing money in a club: the HUD displays a dedicated prompt for the action.
- Circuit racing: lap, position among sixteen competitors and a timer are visible.
- Shooting range: the HUD tracks targets, time and bonuses.
- Motocross racing: it uses lap, position, time and rival markers on the minimap.
- BASE jumping and parachuting: Lucia falls from a high point and deploys a parachute over Vice City.
This evidence comes from Rockstar's published material, not leaked footage.
Livestreams and social life inside the game
During a police chase, a vertical broadcast appears with comments, a viewer count and a VIEW LIVESTREAM prompt. This confirms an interface for opening a livestream inside the game world.
It does not confirm that players can broadcast freely, monetize content or manage a complete social network. Likewise, throwing money in a club is a visible interaction, but its rules, rewards and availability remain unknown.
What appears in the background but is not a confirmed minigame
Not every visible action is proof of a playable activity:
- A non-player character rides an electric scooter without player controls on screen.
- Several people sunbathe on loungers, but the shot works as environmental detail.
- Jason sits in front of a television during a narrative scene, without a menu or channel controls.
- Minigolf, pool and animal study appear in press roundups, but our review did not find an interface or prompt comparable to racing, workouts or basketball.
For now, these are best described as scenes or possibilities awaiting clarification.
What the video does not confirm
The bench-press sequence does not prove that workouts change body shape, strength, stamina or relationships. That would be a parallel with GTA: San Andreas, not an announced GTA VI feature.
There is also not enough evidence to confirm a functional zoo, fishing, hunting, recurring wrestling or an animal-study system inherited from Red Dead Redemption 2. Similarities with earlier Rockstar games can inspire questions, but they are not proof.
Robbery and chase sequences likewise do not establish that every business can be held up as a repeatable side activity.
Why it matters
The combination of sports, water exploration, racing, shooting, leisure and observation tools suggests an open world with substantial options outside the main story. The useful question is not how high we can push the minigame count, but when Rockstar actually shows an interface or the player taking control.
The full list, timestamps and limits for each activity are available in our GTA VI activities and minigames guide.
