GTA VI music: trailer songs and what is actually confirmed for radio

Rockstar has explicitly credited only two songs in the official descriptions for the Grand Theft Auto VI trailers: Tom Petty's Love Is a Long Road and The Pointer Sisters' Hot Together. The other tracks in this guide were identified while listening to official footage, but appearing in a video does not guarantee a place on a radio station in the final game.

That distinction sounds minor until a list of “confirmed songs” starts circulating as if it were Vice City's complete radio dial. It is not.

Songs credited by Rockstar

Trailer 1

Love Is a Long Road — Tom Petty

The first trailer's description names the song, its writers, publishers and the licence supplied by Universal Music Enterprises. This is the most direct credit available: Rockstar chose it as the centrepiece of the video released on December 4, 2023.

Trailer 2

Hot Together — The Pointer Sisters

Rockstar provides the same level of detail for the second trailer. Its description credits Sharon Robinson as the writer and RCA Records as the label supplying the recording. The video was released on May 6, 2025.

Both songs are confirmed as official marketing music. Rockstar has not said that either belongs to a playable radio station.

Other tracks identified in the first two trailers

PC Gamer identified three additional songs inside scenes from the trailers:

• Child Support — Zenglen;
• Everybody Have Fun Tonight — Wang Chung;
• Talkin' to Myself Again — Tammy Wynette.

They are audible in official material, but Rockstar does not list them in the main credits of the YouTube descriptions. We treat them as musical identifications, not as an announced part of the final soundtrack.

The 14 tracks identified in An Extended Look

The 26-minute presentation moves through music from scenes, vehicles, parties and the edit itself. PC Gamer identified these tracks:

• Pound Town — Sexyy Red and Tay Keith;
• Let Your Love Flow — The Bellamy Brothers;
• Love Bites — Def Leppard;
• People Are People — Depeche Mode;

• Cars and Girls — Prefab Sprout;
• Off the Grid — !!! featuring Meah Pace;
• Devil Woman — Cliff Richard;
• Se Me Nota (Agárrame) — Chimbala and Omega;
• Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now) — Phil Collins;
• Mine O' Mine — Aluna and Jayda G;
• Inner Light — Elderbrook and Bob Moses.

PC Gamer's structured list spells the featured artist on Off the Grid as “Mesh Pace.” Apple Music and MusicBrainz identify the recording as Off the Grid (feat. Meah Pace) by !!!. We use the catalogue credit rather than carrying the typo forward.

Rockstar does not list these songs in the official description for An Extended Look. The presentation is official and the tracks are audible, but the identifications rely on PC Gamer's listening work followed by checks of titles and artists.

Are they confirmed for GTA VI's radio stations?

No. A song can appear in a trailer for several reasons:

• licensed music added to the edit;
• audio coming from a car or venue inside a scene;
• an ambient performance;
• a track licensed only to market the game.

Even when music appears to come from an in-world radio or speaker, the video does not confirm the station name, its full programming or whether the licence remains in the release build.

Rockstar has not yet published:

• an official station list;
• DJs or hosts;
• a total song count;
• exclusive artists;
• talk programmes;
• regional licensing differences;
• update plans for a future online mode.

What the selection tells us

The mix fits Rockstar's modern Vice City. It crosses decades and moves through rock, pop, country, Haitian kompa, Latin music, hip hop and electronic music. This is not a city trapped in the 1980s, although tracks from that decade still have a place.

The choices also carry the trailers. Tom Petty introduces Jason and Lucia; The Pointer Sisters turn the second trailer into a relationship story; Phil Collins, Depeche Mode and Def Leppard connect with Vice City's musical memory without reducing the entire game to nostalgia.

How to read this guide

We use three plain labels:

• Credited by Rockstar: named in the official video description.
• Identified in official footage: audible in the video with a reliable title and artist identification.
• Confirmed for radio: reserved for a station named by Rockstar or an unambiguous interface.

The first two categories contain music today. The third remains empty.

The links in this list point to official artist or label channels, or YouTube Topic pages where available. They let you hear each recording, but they do not turn a song heard in a trailer into a track confirmed for GTA VI's radio.
