Rockstar hasn't announced anything for October 15, but most of its GTA VI news since August has landed on a Thursday. Here's where the date comes from and what's actually confirmed.

Status: no official announcement. Rockstar hasn't confirmed anything for Thursday, October 15. On Thursday we'll check the Newswire, the GTA VI site and Rockstar's social channels, and update this page with whatever comes out. If nothing does, we'll say that here too.

Since August, a lot of the official GTA VI news has landed on Thursdays. That's why Game Rant calls October 15 "the next date to watch." It's worth keeping an eye on, but it helps to know where the idea comes from before you start expecting a trailer.

Where the date comes from

The run started with An Extended Look on Thursday, August 27. On September 3, also a Thursday, PlayStation revealed the GTA VI DualSense controllers. On the 17th, Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, and on the 24th it opened preorders for The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection.

The most recent Thursday drop was October 8, with two posts at once: the first six radio stations, with hosts including Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, and Slayer's Kerry King and Tom Araya, and official apparel at the Rockstar Store. We covered both here and here.

The streak has gaps, though. On Thursday, October 1, the Newswire only had GTA Online news and nothing on GTA VI, as we noted at the time. And not every Thursday item is a look at the game. A controller, an album or a T-shirt counts as news, but none of them shows you anything new about Leonida.

What might come, and what hasn't been announced

There is no Trailer 3 announcement. Game Rant floats it as a possibility and says not to count on it, and we're not counting on it either. What we do know is that Rockstar only showed the first six stations on October 8, so there are more to come. The calendar is getting tight, too: preloading starts on Thursday, November 12 (IGN), and the game launches on Thursday the 19th.

What else is happening that week

Two other stories will be making noise. The Glasgow employment tribunal over the 2025 firings wraps up on October 16 (our coverage). And Cyberleek is still pushing its coin-linked leak roadmap (explained here). If you see something "new from GTA VI" on Thursday, check where it came from before you share it. A Rockstar post and a leaked clip are not the same thing.
