GTA VI Trailer 3: it's here, and it's the launch trailer

it's here

Rockstar released the GTA VI launch trailer today, the game's third trailer. We break it down shot by shot in this story.

Short answer

Yes, Trailer 3 is out, though Rockstar doesn't call it that. Its official name is Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer, it came out on October 15, 2026, and it runs 90 seconds. Watch it on YouTube or Rockstar's site.

Every official GTA VI video

• Trailer 1, December 4, 2023. Lucia's introduction in prison and the first look at Vice City (Rockstar).
• Trailer 2, May 6, 2025. The first one built around Jason and Lucia as a couple.
• An Extended Look, August 27, 2026. A 26-minute, 48-second presentation mixing story and gameplay, premiered on Netflix and then YouTube. Rockstar never called it a trailer (Rockstar).
• Launch Trailer, October 15, 2026. 90 seconds featuring Jason's Army past, Lucia calling from prison, a job gone wrong and the debut of Justice's "Flower in a Hurricane" (our story).

Why we call it Trailer 3 when Rockstar doesn't

Because that's what people search for, and because counting only trailers, it's the third. An Extended Look stayed out of the count because it was something else: a long presentation, not a trailer. That's why we wrote in July that there was no Trailer 3, and stuck with it until today.

What it shows

In short: Jason works at Brian's Marina in the Keys and says he left the Army on bad terms. Lucia calls him from prison. Together they pull a job that ends at a vault and turns into a chase through Vice City. In between there are biplanes over the beach, bikes jumping rooftops, gyms and an iguana crossing the road. It was all captured on PS5. The full breakdown, with stills, is in our trailer story.

What we expected and what happened

For months, every big date came with its own Trailer 3 rumor: June pre-orders, the August 7 earnings call, August 27. The last bet, ours, was the November 9 to 12 window, following Red Dead Redemption 2, whose launch trailer dropped the day preloading opened, eight days before release (we explained it here). Rockstar beat that by almost a month and released it 35 days before November 19. The watch thread is now resolved.

Will there be more videos?

Nothing is announced. Going by how Rockstar usually works, this is likely the last big video before launch, though shorter spots or announcements can still show up. If anything drops, we'll add it here.
