Will there be GTA VI news on Thursday, October 29? What we know

Rockstar hasn't announced anything for Thursday the 29th. How many Thursdays it really is, what could come and the dates through November 19.

Status: no official announcement. Rockstar hasn't confirmed anything for Thursday, October 29. On the day we'll check the Newswire, the GTA VI site and Rockstar's social accounts, and update this page with whatever comes out. If nothing does, we'll say so.

Last Thursday the Newswire stayed quiet, but the week wasn't: the first TV ad during the NBA, Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell at the Heat's arena, the permit for Vice Beach in Miami Beach and the boards at El Clásico. Now outlets like Que.es are pointing to the 29th as the day Rockstar speaks again. It could happen, but it's worth separating the habit from what's actually been announced.

How many Thursdays it really is

Here's what Rockstar has posted on Thursdays on its Newswire:

The "nine Thursdays in a row" lists include third-party news, like the DualSense controllers PlayStation showed on September 3, and count what happened in Miami as an announcement. It's a strong habit, but Rockstar has never said it runs a schedule.

What could come

  • The download size. This is the most common guess. Digital pre-loading starts November 12, and Rockstar still hasn't said how big the game is.
  • More radio stations. Rockstar has only revealed six, and Miami is already advertising V Rock and Vice City FM (our story).
  • Something about reviews. NateTheHate says review copies are already going out and that the embargo lifts on November 18. That's a rumor (our story).

What there isn't is any new video announced. A live-action trailer shot in Miami is still a fan theory.

The dates that are set

  • Thursday, October 29 and November 5: the two Thursdays left before pre-loading.
  • Monday, November 9: Take-Two reports earnings (our story).
  • Thursday, November 12: pre-loading begins (IGN).
  • Wednesday, November 18: the Heat play as Vice City (our story). If the rumor holds, reviews go live that day too.
  • Thursday, November 19: the game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Before you share anything on Thursday

Cyberleek posted something to its channel again on Saturday the 24th that Telegram's web view won't show, and no outlet has reported what it is (its history, here). If you see something "new from GTA VI" on Thursday, check where it comes from. A Rockstar post and a leaked clip aren't the same thing, and a site asking you to pay for the game is a scam.
