Will there be GTA VI news on Thursday, November 5? What we know

Rockstar has announced nothing on GTA VI for this Thursday, and its latest Newswire post is Tuesday's: pre-load begins November 10. We go over the week, what could come next and the calendar that is actually fixed.

CircoLoco Ibiza has posted artwork on Instagram with the text "The Future in Vice City is unpredictable," tagging @rockstargames and @circolocorecords, the label CircoLoco and Rockstar describe as a partnership. It says nothing about music or dates. That something arrives on Thursday is an inference from fan accounts, not an announcement.

Status: No official announcement. Rockstar has not confirmed anything for Thursday, November 5. We checked the Newswire this Wednesday the 4th: the latest GTA VI entry is still Tuesday's pre-load post. On Thursday we will check the Newswire, the GTA VI site and Rockstar's social accounts again, and update this page with whatever turns up. If nothing does, we will say so here too.

Almost everything official on GTA VI since late August has landed on a Thursday, but this week Rockstar spoke on a Tuesday: on November 3 it moved pre-load up to the 10th. This is the last Thursday before pre-load begins, and the second-to-last before launch.

What this week brought

  • Pre-load moves up. The Newswire sets it for Tuesday, November 10, not the 12th. According to Game Rant, it starts at midnight local time on PS5 and at 12 a.m. GMT worldwide on Xbox, and the code-in-box editions arrive Thursday the 12th (our story).
  • PlayStation sets the stage. Its pre-download guide asks you to free up at least 212 GB on your PS5 and ends with a line that commits to nothing: "We'll have more information on Grand Theft Auto VI as we get closer to November 19."
  • Xbox answers with an alligator. The Series X-BITE is a working Series X inside an alligator more than five feet long, with a US sweepstakes through November 10. Xbox's post never names the game.
  • The sneakers still aren't on the Newswire. The three Air Force 1s from Travis Scott, Nike and Rockstar are still a report on our side.

What Rockstar has posted on the Newswire since October

We went over the August and September weeks here. It is a very strong habit, but the latest entry landed on a Tuesday, and Rockstar has never announced a schedule.

What could be next

In today's searches we found no source pointing to November 5 as an announcement day. What is still pending, and would fit any Thursday:

  • More radio stations. Rockstar has only presented six, and V Rock and Vice City FM are already advertised in Miami.
  • Reviews. There is a rumor that the embargo lifts on November 18 (our story). Rockstar has said nothing.

A live-action trailer?

It is the question going around the most, and for now there is footage, not an announcement. On October 21, Notebookcheck reported that a camera crew filmed a convoy of GTA VI cars with Vice City plates on a closed Miami street near Bayside Marketplace. A car with a large camera mounted on it led the way and a drone flew overhead. Users on X shared the videos. On November 2, playstationinfo.de picked up new footage of the shoot shared on Reddit, showing professional cameras and a support vehicle, without saying when it was filmed.

Neither has confirmation. According to Notebookcheck, it is not clear whether Rockstar led the production or what it will be used for. The most repeated theory is a live-action trailer, before or after launch. playstationinfo.de also mentions a GTA Online trailer theory and calls the link "purely speculative." We are sticking to what can be seen: a shoot with the game's cars. Rockstar has said nothing. We covered the cars here.

The calendar that is fixed

  • Friday, November 6: Flo Rida kicks off the NINE1NINE party at E11EVEN Miami.
  • Monday, November 9: Take-Two reports earnings (our story).
  • Tuesday, November 10: pre-load begins and the alligator sweepstakes closes.
  • Thursday, November 12: the code-in-box editions arrive.
  • Wednesday, November 18: the Heat play as Vice City (our story).
  • Thursday, November 19: the game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Before you share anything on Thursday

If you see something "new from GTA VI," check where it comes from. A Rockstar post and a leaked clip are not the same thing, and a site asking you for money for the game is a scam.

Our read

Certainty: Speculation

What Rockstar has said this week already changes your first day, and it did not take a Thursday: pre-load on the 10th leaves the game downloaded nine days before launch, with 212 GB free on PS5 according to PlayStation. If you pre-ordered digitally, the only useful move before then is clearing disk space.

It fits a campaign that no longer needs to reveal anything new to fill the calendar: Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell at the Kaseya Center, the E11EVEN night and Xbox's alligator fill the days without a Newswire post. Last Thursday's news was Justice's score and this week's heads-up came on a Tuesday, so the Thursday calendar is no longer a reliable clue.

We would watch three dates: Friday the 6th, with the Miami party; Monday the 9th, with Take-Two's results; and the rumored review embargo on the 18th. If Rockstar posts anything on Thursday, going by its rhythm the likeliest things are radio stations or merchandise. A video built from the Miami footage is possible, but today it rests only on what has been seen on the street, and that is our guess.

Our take: November 5 has worse odds than any October Thursday, because the big news of the week is already out.
